Review: Mythical Jewelry Etsy Order

This last week, after Castaway Trading Co.‘s co-owner visited the show I got into a Etsy kick because I needed their grenados (review coming later this weekend). From there that lead me to ordering some other items as well in preparation for this season of the Texas Renaissance Festival. The first order that arrived was a flask/pipe combo and a pendant from Mythical Jewelry.

This was a Flask Tobacco Pipe Gift set they sell. The flask is even more beautiful in person than it was on the website or in my own picture above. It is a 6oz flask with an octopus around a compass of sorts to give it that steampunk feel. I don’t do steampunk, but the compass still works for a pirate. The filigree in the corners is a very nice touch. I bought this one though because of the black leather and red stitching, it’s what I usually wear so it goes very well with my current attire.

The pipe has metal on the inside, which is new for me. I have not had the opportunity to use it, but once I do (likely next weekend at faire) I will update this review. I really like the red with black dots. As stated above it goes with the attire and with the non-wooden nature of my other pipes it may be able to handle the wear and tear of not being well taken care of at faire.

I also receive a surprise bonus item in the POTC Aztec gold coin key-chain. It is well made and was just the first sign that this vendor goes above and beyond with their products. I did not stage this photo with my own box, this is how the gift set arrived. It is a great gift for that pirate in your life and a steal at only $30.

Along with the gift set I also purchased this modified POTC Aztec gold coin. It is a pendant that comes with a nice chain so you can wear it as a necklace or ditch the necklace and just use it as a pendant. Added bonus? You get to choose the chain length when you buy! I myself have not made the decision, but will likely go the pendant route as my neck area will likely be too busy and I don’t need to be a piratical Mr. T.

Red and black “gems” have been added to the coin as well as a larger back. I actually thought about adding this to one of my Captain Jack Pirate Hats, but it actually was bigger than I was expecting. Very reasonable price at $13, they don’t try to gouge you just because it’s a pirate item; which can easily happen on some websites.

The last excellent addition I want to mention is this wooden box. This is what the pendant came in and I adore it. It’s not painted, lined, nothing that will blow your mind. It is however nicer than just showing up in the red bag the pendant is in. It is just another added bonus from Mythical Jewelry that I am now using to store some of my rings and necklaces that I use for my garb.

Overall this was an excellent transaction with a company that I feel goes above and beyond in all aspects of business (I didn’t even mention how quick it got here). I am highly recommending them if you want to give that special pirate in your life a nice gift and not worry about what you’re gonna put it in. They are a great gift company, will buy from them again.
